We Did It!!

Eric and I ran the Canyonlands Half Marathon in Moab, UT March 16, 2013.
This was my second half and Eric's first.
My time: 2:19:55
Eric's time: 2:21:44

We both did a lot better than we thought we would especially for not training 100%.
I trained a little more than Eric and only beat him by 2 minutes.
But...I still beat him!
That doesn't happen very often!

The Sorensens and Hashs did the 5 mile.

We decided since hiking wasn't an option Saturday afternoon, 

we would take a drive through Arches National Park.

 

My AweSomE Sister came down and stayed with Kyson.
He was a good boy and helped prepare her for what her life
is going to be like in 3 months!!

A Few Firsts

There's a First Time for Everything

I LOVE capturing Kyson's Firsts!!

First "real" haircut

Kyson got his first "real" haircut at Studio 9 Salon in Salt Lake. 

He kept trying to look at the scissors so I had to hold his head the entire time which made him mad so... I didin't get any pictures :(

We took Kyson to the Bountiful Rec Center. They have a great pool for kids.

2nd Annual

Our 2nd Annual Bear River Snowmobiling Trip!

We had so much fun last year that I'm glad we had the opportunity to do it again this year.

Although I was excited to go, I was NOT excited to leave Kyson for the first time over night. 

But...my sweet mom offered to come stay with him for the weekend. 

I liked that idea because I knew he was in good hands!!

There were about 24 total people in and out of the cabin.

We headed up Saturday morning with the Houses and the Partridges

We met the Hamms there, got everything unloaded and left for a day on sleds in the snow.

We got about a mile from the cabin when we were swarmed by Sherifs. The Hamm's sled were registered in Wyoming and we were in Utah.

That's a problem.

Although Riley made the effort to get tags at the lodge, he was told they don't EVER check and that he didn't need to worry about it.

(Should we send him the $120 bill for our citations??)

Eric and Riley got citations then we were on our way.

It was a BEAUTIFUL day!!!!

There wasn't quit as much snow as last year which surprised me with how much snow we got in the valley, but we still had a Great time!!

Then...someone (I won't mention names) left the brake on. After going down and up the hill, a brake fire stalled our fun for a while. We had to tow the sled back about 10 miles. Then drove in to Evanston and got the parts to fix it. 

It was ready to ride on Monday!!

Good work boys!!!!

Sunday we went snowshoeing, shot guns, went tubing and played games.

We had a GREAT time!!

And then coming home to my sweet baby was a great way to top off the weekend!!

I wish I had gotten a picture of the GIANT smile on his face when we walked in the door!

The BIG Three Zero

For a long time I had a fear of turning 30.

My goal was to be married with at least one child by the time I hit my 30s.

And for quit some time, I wasn't sure if I was going to hit my goal.

Luckily...I did!!

My 30th Birthday felt like just a normal day Except...my WonDerFul husband made it 

EXTRA special!

It started out with him making me breakfast!

Then he surprised me throughout the day with "30 reasons why I love you" along with a gift.

I can't even explain how much I LOVED this. 

All 30 reasons were so sweet and very heartfelt and thoughtful. 

I even cried reading them (apparently I'm extra sensitive after having a baby)

Then...he planned a surprise party for me. 

I knew he was doing something because he told me not to make any plans but I had No idea about the party!

What a Great surprise!!!

I was so happy to see some of my WonDerFul family and friends there.

My family even came down which was such a great surprise!!

We partied at the Pizza Pie Cafe in Bountiful.

I also got to have a Birthday/Going Away lunch with a good friend, Melanie!

I do have to say this is the BEST Birthday I've EVER had!!!!

Thanks so much to my Most AMAZING husband for such a Special Day!!!!

My 30s are off to a Great start!!!!

Crazy Winter

We have had a cRaZy winter so far. 

Brings back so many memories of growing up in Wyoming. Our winters were Always like this.

Freezing Rain. I'd have to say I've Never seen this before. It was Crazy!!!!

 Those would be GIANT air bubbles under a clear sheet of ICE!!!!

This is how the roads, parking lots, sidewalks and driveways were. 

SO SLICK!!!!

Icicles that have been around for at least 2 weeks now.

I could drive around for a whole day and look at icicles. I think they're SO pretty!!!!
